God bless Adam Sessler. I used to not be able to stand him... but he's grown on me over the years. This is an oldie but a goodie... back right before G4 completely sold out (even though they had already started to).
Fuck you for somehow magically knowing that I started playing Xenosaga 2 again, and am really enjoying it. I forgot that I have all the characters in swimsuits for the agility bonus. No, seriously, Xenosaga is a good game.
I couldn't stand anything about Xenosaga. At least in Xenogears the references to philosophical words had relevance, in Xenosaga they just throw stuff in to make it sound deep and profound. I couldn't get my head around the fact they kept referencing Xenogears but it was not the same at all. It disappointed me sooooo much that they could not make the other episodes (Xenogears was episode 5 in a series) since Squaresoft were a buncha dicks and didn't give the rights to the developers after they left the company.
You're nitpicking. So what if the references to Xenogears are slight? Xenosaga is it's own story. The voice-acting is atrocious, but the puzzles are really good, and the battle system is complex and difficult. They also did a few innovative things with the battle system format. I dislike the fact that everyone gets the exact same skills, and that some skills or people seem too hard or weak to use. I'm at the end of the game, but I got here three years ago...can't remember a lot of what happened. I think the sidequests were pretty fun. Time-consuming, but fun. Maybe it's a fanboy thing, but, still Xenosaga has one of the better plots and overall storytelling around.
