Echocrome

Yesterday, I updated my ps3 firmware, checked out the new playstation store, and downloaded two new demos: Ironman and Echocrome. Ironman was almost unplayable. I didn't play more than a minute, but it just seemed awful. Maybe I'll give it a second chance... after finals.

But Echochrome... where to begin? It's stylish, simplistic, sexy, any other complimentary S word you can think of, and most importantly, extremely addictive. This is where I get confused. The demo is short, there are five tutorial puzzles followed by five actual puzzles, and yet I can't stop playing it over and over again. I know the solution to every puzzle, can blast through it in less than five minutes, but still can't stop myself. Every play through, there is something new to appreciate, some other solution that wasn't apparent the last time through. Hell, sometimes I actually forget the solution and have to figure it out again... I love it. Please don't make me wait another second for this game to come out. I was excited for gta4 but now all that's on my brain is Echocrome.

...Echochrome

UPDATE: Ironman is definitely not unplayable... it is, however, terrible.

Can I just be a dick and bitch about your puzzle-game addiction?
I loved the tutorial, and really liked the concepts, but am more interested in what kind of world Echocrome takes place. Why is reality defined by a person's viewpoint? Why do the Echos matter? Who is your character?
Echocrome vs. Portal
Portal had a great story and was a puzzle game at the same time. Echocrome has an amazingly inventive gameplay like Portal, but...why, damnit, why?

The things that you are interested in perfectly illustrates the reasons you love RPG's... and I'm not saying that to be negative. I also don't think you will get any of those questions answered when the final release comes out (which thankfully is tomorrow). My love for the two games comes from the interesting gameplay mechanics. But I think you might be right, I do love puzzle games... tetris is one of my favorites and I had the strong urge to play lumines the other day (But the psp wouldn't read it). Maybe I should do an actual write up on puzzle games... a legitimate post. Expect it sometime in the near future.

I think if you have a post stating explicitly that my penis is bigger, it will be just as effective but much more important than writing about puzzle games.

You see what I did there? I sure hope so.

Completely unsupportive.

But yeah, actually, I haven't understood the draw before, so an article like that on puzzle games would be great...

I'm sorry...

My dick iS so (g)reat Bigger

You trolling, little man? You think your James Dick has half the chutzpah of mine? I don't know what's acceptable to the women in Iowa, but here, chods just don't cut it.

you see what I did there?

Expect a furious phone call tomorrow (not so much furious as just a phone call) and a puzzle game post sometime...

My dick iSn't that (g)reat... just Bigger than yours
